I saw a deer chasing a coyote!

I am wanted to practice adding pictures to a post. So here they are, Grace and Elias enjoying spring in St. Louis.
Recipe of the week
After three weeks vacation I am ready to get back on track. I will start with a new one I tried this week which was suprisingly yummy( It doesn't sound like it would be). It also stored well for several days before we finished it and was easy to make.

Carrot/Radish Salad
1 lb Carrots(several/ shredded)
1/2 Red onion(diced)
3/4 cup radishes
1/2 cup cilantro
3Tbsp. olive oil
3Tbsp. lemon juice
3 Tbsp. Orange Juice
1 dash Cinnamon
I added a touch of honey to sweeten it
and a few shakes of salt and pepper-to taste(opt.)

Combine and mix

Radishes are in season and available at farmers market that is why I wanted a good recipe. Next week I will try a different radish recipe, but will only post it if it is good.

Stacey's Post

Stacey saved a draft of a post on may 25. I added pictures and published it today, but it still shows may 25 as its date so it is down below. Check it out.

Truckee Adventures

Hi,
I am amazed that a group of 10 people living in a house can get along as well as we have so far. The biggest problem we have had so far is an overflowed toilet (fixed) and a crammed fridge. There are some interesting people on the crew. One of the guys has a digestive problem and can only eat vegetables and chicken. He brings canned chicken into the field with him and cooks carrots in tomato juice.
One of the other guys sleeps on the porch at night even though he has a perfectly good bed inside that he can sleep on. I thought that a little strange especially considering the weather we have been having.
It snowed off and on yesterday and the snow was really coming down. We didn't work yesterday because of it and I was pretty bored. I am living in a hiker's paradise here, but I don't think I will be able to hike or go on walks all summer because of my knee.
Most of the female willow flycatchers haven't arrived yet, so work has been pretty low-key. When they do start nesting, things are going to get pretty crazy.

A Call For More Posts...

I am assuming you are all like me....you keep checking the blog hoping that someone has posted something new and interesting to divert you from your own boring and meaningless life. I guess one of the boring and meaningless people has to take some initiative and uncover something of interest in the outside world. Here it is for today brought to you by VoftheM...Oysters can change their sex by the temperature of the water. Also, in Peru on New Years Day women wear yellow undies. Edgar Allen Poe married his 13-year-old cousin. Pythagoras belonged to a cult that adhered to the following creed: wear white clothes, observe sexual purity (can you believe that!!??) , and do not touch beans and so forth. I hope you are all satisfied and motivated to go out and uncover some wonder in the world to share with the rest of us. Happy posting.

Celebrate Good Times!

Happy Birthday Elizabeth!!!
Realizing I probably won't get to talk to you I am sending my love and wishes for a great day through the internet waves. I hope your party is very fun and exciting. I listened to the songs you wrote and sent a few years ago on my mp3 player this morning. I hadn't heard them for a while and it was a nice coincidence to then hear them again on your B-day. Thank you for your gift to us that keeps on giving(a little cheesy, but very sincere).
